A public-health and digital-transformation specialist with international experience in citizen-centred public systems.
An MSc graduate in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, he works across public health, migration and digital transformation. After roles in Mozambique, Peru, Kenya and Germany, he is now a Technical Advisor to GIZ’s German–Brazilian Digital Dialogue in Brasília, covering digital health, digital public infrastructure, emerging technologies and information integrity.

He leads the strategy for digital technologies that create industrial value at Fraunhofer IPK.
Dr. Kai Lindow is an expert in digital technologies with a focus on data and model integration, digital ecosystems, data spaces and AI-driven solutions – always with an eye on business potential. For over a decade, he has been developing systemic approaches to make products and processes more efficient and resource-saving. After studying mechanical engineering in Berlin and Stockholm, he completed his PhD on “Knowledge-based development of sustainable products” at TU Berlin. Following his post-doctoral research at the interface of engineering and computer science, he became head of the Information and Process Control department at Fraunhofer IPK in Berlin, where he now serves as Director of Digital Engineering. He is actively involved in industrial and scientific working groups and a frequent voice on industry and research panels.

Solid-State Pharmaceutics Researcher
An interdisciplinary researcher in biomolecular physics, nanoscience, crystal engineering and drug development.
Her pharmaceutical-science work includes experience at the University of São Paulo and the University of Bologna. She took part in the Royal Academy of Engineering’s LIF Global 2026 programme. Her research covers the development, synthesis and characterisation of new solid forms of active pharmaceutical ingredients, crystallography and nanoscience applied to medicine.

A pharmacist and computer scientist researching federated learning applied to health intelligence.
A pharmacist, computer scientist and PhD candidate at the University of Tartu, Estonia, where he researches Federated Learning on biased representations. As a researcher at the SESI Innovation Centre for Occupational Health (CIS-SO/Firjan), he works at the intersection of health and AI, developing predictive models and data science solutions to map chronic diseases and build health intelligence. He holds a master’s degree in Applied Informatics from UNIRIO and a specialisation in Hospital Pharmacy from UFRJ.

A theoretical chemist with a track record at Amgen, Pfizer and Aché, now leading Nintx.
He received his PhD in Theoretical and Organic Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2001, followed by a postdoctorate with Prof. William Jorgensen at Yale University. He worked at Amgen and then Pfizer, both in the US, as a Senior Principal Scientist. In 2014 he returned to Brazil to lead the Radical Innovation Unit at Aché Laboratórios Farmacêuticos, focused on the discovery and early development of new chemical entities from synthetic and natural sources, and was promoted to Senior Director, Research, Innovation & New Technologies in 2020. He left Aché to start, with Dr. Miller Freitas and Mr. Stephani Saverio, a Brazilian company called Nintx (Next Innovative Therapeutics), which draws on intra- and interspecies biology and derived natural products to generate novel human therapies. He is the author of some 70 publications and patents.

That belief led her from academia into industry, first pharma and then scientific information and data. For over a decade she has been with the American Chemical Society, where she currently leads Sales and Government Relations for Latin America, doubling and tripling key contracts, negotiating multimillion-dollar agreements and deepening institutional partnerships across Brazil and the region. She advocates for gender equity in STEM and scientific capacity building in the Global South.

He has worked on projects with renowned companies in Brazil and abroad, mainly applying data science to R&D, supply chain, customer success and business expansion.

Head of Drug Discovery
She leads drug discovery at LNBio/CNPEM, focused on bioactive natural products.
Graduated in Biology (2003) with a Master in Biotechnology (2006) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, and a PhD in Sciences, Biomolecular Physics, from the University of São Paulo (2010). She has developed postdoctoral research at the University of Campinas (2010–2013), the University of California at San Diego (2012) and the University of Nottingham (2015–2016), in the areas of chemistry, natural product biotechnology and molecular pharmacology respectively, with additional training in Project Management from the University of California at San Diego (2022). Her main scientific interests are the discovery of novel bioactive natural products and protein allosteric modulators and their development into new drugs, developing tools for the discovery, characterisation and production of new natural products and customised derivatives for drug discovery projects with academia and industry, applying structural biology methodologies extensively.

She works in innovation at Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz, in the Medical Affairs department. Her research covers public health policy, pharmacoeconomics and health technology assessment (HTA), aimed at optimising the use of resources and ensuring the sustainability of Brazil’s public health system. She coordinates the Technical Group of Pharmacists for Racial Equality at CRF/RJ. She has experience as a hospital pharmacist at Hospital Pró-Cardíaco and in primary care within the public health system. Between 2019 and 2024 she was a partner and manager of the independent cultural centre MOTIM, responsible for financial management and strategic planning.
